The Bracken Outdoors Ecru 3m x 3m Square Cantilever Garden Parasol with Solar Powered LED Lights has been developed to provide optimum shade on hot summer days. But not only that, it boasts solar-powered LED lights for that evening ambiance, the ability to block out the sun wherever it is in the sky, and includes the 4 piece base FREE! From bottom to top – the fillable base weights can be filled with water or sand, and coming in 4 sections, makes it manageable to move them about when necessary. Sand is obviously heavier, and we recommend this as the better option, but water will do also. The sections sit snuggly across the metal cross-piece base to form a perfect square. The foot pedal, when pressed, lets the main pole rotate, allowing the canopy to swing around 360°. This covers a huge area when you are trying to find that bit of shade out of the midday sun. Halfway up the stem, you’ll find the on/off switch for the LED lights, and a socket to plug in the charger (included) so you can still charge the solar-powered lights electrically, even in the absence of sunshine. The substantial aluminium pole has an easy-to-use trigger handle, that slides up and down and can be stopped at different positions, tilting the canopy back to allow for the sun getting lower or higher in the sky. To the side of the trigger handle, the crank turns easily to put up or take down the canopy, which, in the down position folds right against the pole, and can be secured around it with the Velcro’d strap attached. The unique feature found on this parasol (that is usually missing in others) is the pull handle on the canopy arm. This allows you twist the canopy from side to side (as well as tilting it backwards with the main handle). So, in effect, you can block out the sun from 3 sides, instead of the normal 1. Solar (or electric) powered LED light strips adorn all 7, full length parasol “ribs” or spokes, and really create the mood-lighting ambience you want of an evening. To ensure endurance, the canopy is made of 220gr Polyester with a Pu shower-proof coating. It is fade resistant to a factor UV50+, protecting friends and family also. Ideal for enjoying extended hours in the garden, or on the patio, in the hot Summer days. Finally, at the top of the parasol, instead of a conventional finial, the round solar panel unit simply slots into the hole and quarter turns to connect the power pack to the LED lights.
